ERG brings Kazakhstan bauxite on stream


Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) has completed the construction of two bauxite mines in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, bringing 1.3 million tonnes per year of bauxite on stream, captive to Aluminium of Kazakhstan’s needs. Production will commence immediately at both sites, located in the Krasno-Oktyabrskoye mining unit: mine No. 9 at Ayatsky and mine No. 17 at Krasnogorsky.

The new production follows a $21.5 million investment by ERG and will feed operations at ERG’s Pavlodar aluminium smelter. Construction is also underway at mine No. 4 at Vostochno-Ayatsky and is due for completion in 2020.
