PRICE NOTICE: Steel discontinuations update

Apr 02, 2018 | 02:33 PM |

Tags  steel prices, electrogalvanized sheet, aluminized sheet, motor lamination sheet, coiled plate, strip mill plate, alloy plate, stainless coiled plate

After a consultation period, American Metal Market has discontinued its assessments for the following carbon steel products:

• Electrogalvanized sheet
• Motor lamination sheet
• Strip mill plate
• Alloy plate

American Metal Market will retain its aluminized and coiled plate assessments in light of significant market feedback. Multiple market participants told American Metal Market that the assessments for aluminized sheet and coiled plate are vital benchmarks in their respective industries. As a result, American Metal Market will continue to assess and publish those prices.

In addition, American Metal Market today merged its assessments for Type 316 and Type 316L stainless coil plate prices, as stated in the same previous consultation notice. These prices will now be covered under one assessment called Type 316/316L stainless coiled plate.

If you have any questions or comments about the changes, please contact Thorsten Schier at pricing@metalbulletin.com. Please add the subject line FAO: Thorsten Schier, re: steel discontinuations, mergers.

All historical data relating to the discontinued prices prior to their suspension will remain available in the pricing section of the American Metal Market website.
